When I first found out I had got allocated a place I had absolutely no idea what to do, if anything. I am not talented musically and cannot dance or act. I contemplated being a living statue and stand still for the hour but to me I personally felt that this was a waste of my time on the plinth. So, I thought I would highlight the plight of the bee and show the world that we have to act now or the future growth of mankind will suffer the consequences. Everyone knows about pandas and whales etc but not many speak of the bees.
Bees are declining at an alarming rate and are crucial to the foodchain! So, to help get my message across I made 52 bees out of wool and threw them at passers by whilst shouting 'Save the Bees'. I succeeded in hitting several people on the head, hahaha. I dressed as a bee and shared fascinating bee facts, bee poems, songs and jokes with whoever wanted to stop and listen.
I also celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the moon landings whilst up there and had a wee party to myself to mark the cosmic event.
I am one of the guest bloggers for the One and Other website and you can check out my blog posts by clicking on the 'my story' link above or check out the news archive for Scotland.
I am so excited and honoured to be a part of this project! Thanks Antony!!! xxx
