'8-bit balloons' is a construction of balloons organised into sequences of 8bit binary numbers.
Digital data is not necessarily as precise as presumed.
In my time on the plinth, my digital message became somewhat garbled by the elements :-)
Each binary number is representing an AscII code for a letter, the sequences of balloons spell out a message.
It was fun to watch the sequences become entangled and of course, I ran out of time - achieved 200 balloons inflated !
One disappointing aspect - I wouldve needed to inflate about 1000 to give me any lift. So no floating over london this day.
ps: the balloons and string were biodegradable and the installation was designed to deflate within a few hours.
