Throughout my professional guises over the years, I have always been an artist. I paint and sculpt - my brother rudely says that I am turning to "the dark side" with my venture into performance art on the plinth!
Recently, I have given up working as an accountant in order to concentrate on Art full time. I shall be having my first solo show at Christmas time.
My piece on the plinth, though a new departure for me, is a gesture of love and peace. Things that I hold dear and seem to be in short supply. I shall be doing a little guerrilla gardening with it as well - planting wild flower seeds around Britain from the plinth.
I am intrigued by the idea of not only having a cross section of society involved in the project - but that involvement can touch others who have not deliberately taken part.
Good to be involved in something so positive!
I am supporting and collecting for Amnesty International - as individuals, this is a cause that should be close to all of our hearts.
I just hope that the small part I am playing on the Plinth might make some people smile. I hope that people around the country, months from now, unexpectantly have lovely flowers in there gardens, or next to the road. I hope it spreads a little love.
