I'm a curator, writer and researcher. Starting out as an archaeologist but ending up a contemporary art curator, I'm inspired by how Antony Gormley engages with anthropology in his work. I work with artists to explore the spaces and relations between people and things. I feel that meaning isn't found within things, objects or artworks themselves but in the relations between one another. I am also interested in how we sometimes feel that heritage and archaeology are from the past while they are actually things we choose to create today. You can check out some of my work and writings here: www.iarchitectures.com.
I am excited to take part in this project as I think it challenges popular and traditional understandings of art, heritage, memory, identities, monuments and performance. During my hour, I want to create something that is both inspiring and maybe a bit challenging. With the support of my professional collaborator Andrew Cochrane, I hope to create an enjoyable moment on the plinth that gives us a chance to think about what all this 'plinthing' means and what its legacy will be.
I've set up a site where I will discuss the development of the project here: www.iarchitectures.com/oneanother
Thanks for reading.
