About me My story

My job, as manager of Norwich Puppet Theatre - one of only four dedicated puppet theatre';s in the UK - is largely behind the scenes being creative with budgets and funding applications... so the chance now to be part of the creative process is exciting challenging and should just be fun!

Now the question is what to do ... well i will be wearing my Whiffler's

uniform - traditionally the private police for the Mayor's of Norwich but will the authorities let me wield my wooden sword? and plan to make a puppet that may be auctioned off after the event to raise funds for the puppet theatre.

Whatever I do I intend to have fun and enjoy myself.... and eat chocolate!

Love to you Colin & Jane xxx

  • I do believe I saw a glimmer of a smile begin to turn up the corners of both Hansel's and Gretel's mouths...or maybe they just found your Whiffler outfit too too funny, dahling!

  • Well done Ian! Caught up with you at a more respectable hour. You really cut a dash in your Whiffler attire! Hope you had a good holiday,

  • We would like to adopt a puppet - are there any strings attached?

  • Hi Ian,

Just watched a bit of your hour while at lunch. At least it didn't rain and well done! Looks like you did really well with the puppets. Hope the audience weren't too rowdy and the riff raff stayed away.

  • I love Norwich puppet theatre. Good childhood memories. I live too far to visit nowadays but looking forward to seeing you up on the plinth!

  • Great expectations from Tunisia :-) XXXX

  • Now... I've made many many puppets... & in some very odd & very interesting places... I thought that a secure unit was a good contender but I conceed you've beaten us hands down!

  • June and I went up to see you last night and you put on a great performance. I was surpised at the amount of people who came past and chatted to you that early in the morning. Sorry I left the lens cap on the video camera for your grand arrival but I did film you while you where on the plinth.

    Love Amanda and June

P.S. What happened to the chocolate did you eat it all.

  • Well done. Hansel and Gretel will be very happy.

  • Good luck Ian!

  • HI Ian, I so look forward to you showing me your puppet/s. I am a very good friend of Mark Thompson.

Can't wait, as Mark cannot, wait for you to come and visit us.

Look forward to your arrival with Trevor and your mother xxx
