Monday 27th July. 6-7 am
My hour on the plinth will be spent doing something called Poi Poi, which is a performance art using a ball suspended from a length of flexible material held in the hand and swung in circular patterns. I am not claiming to be great at this but I have learnt through my drama group YAC and I love doing it. The only problem with this is that I couldn't do it for a whole hour as I think my arms would drop off!
I am going to make postcards of photos I have taken of my local area and bake buns, before my time on the plinth. Then in between Poi Poi I am going to give them to people walking by so they can have something to eat at 6-7 am (breakfast from the plinth) as well as see the area I come from
Throughout this I am going to try and raise as much money as possible for alzheimers society in memory of my grandad. www.justgiving.com/katie-hutchinson
I am not a person who is very extrovert, so this project isn't something I would naturally be drawn to. When I heard about it I thought it would be an interesting concept that humans are being considered as a form of art. I would also love being a part of an idea with just 2,400 people that could become a momentous occasion and hopefully a historic event.
I am 16 and have just finished my GSCE's. I have just found out that I am the youngest person so far!!!
