About me My story

Why ? - It'd be something totally different, that only a relatively few people will ever be able to do. I'm now one of those lucky chosen few.

What ? - I decided after great deliberations to auction my services for that hour on the Plinth, on ebay !!

Although both my wife and I work full time, I have recently started ebaying odds and sods around the house to make a bit more money. So as an extension of this, I thought I'd auction my services for this hour on Ebay.

The winning bidder - Wafuku.co.uk is very amenable and apart from wearing their T-shirt and giving out some of their sweets, I can still do some of what I want.

After discussions with the organisers, to keep it within the spirit of the event, 100% of the bid monies received will go to charity - to ensure others benefit from my good fortune.

Wafuku have agrred that their half can go to the same as mine, which is Bedford Samaritans.

Apart from talking about Wafuku, I'll be playing number of songs which have various connotations for me, trying to organise a bring back "Abbey Crunch" campaign , being fairly newly married - of course talking about my undying love for my wife (buckets at the ready!) amongst other things.

Hopefully this representation of the average working man won't be too dull!

  • The One & Other 4th Plinth ended today and I'm finding it very sad. I got quite hooked on it. You were part of something very special, Kevin.

It was such fun to watch you on the plinth, you were so engaging. Your professions of love for your wife were really nice and your Abbey Crunch (oi!, oi!, oi!) sections were great fun and the people below the plinth loved them. You also did www.wafuku.co.uk proud, I really hadn’t expected you to even mention my website, I only expected you to wear the tee shirt and do your own thing up there. You came across so well I felt privileged to be associated with you. My two sisters, who were watching you from below the plinth (one wearing a girl's kimono as a coat) said it was great fun watching you and they thoroughly enjoyed your hour.

You came across as really delightful. Although I was not one of the lucky 2400, you made me feel I was on the plinth by proxy, giving me a tenuous but very pleasing link with it. Thank you.

I wish you all the best, Kevin

  • Well done Kev! Thanks for the birthday greetings especially from Trafalgar square :-) Dad sent you a text!

    Love from us all xxx

  • Hey Kev we will be there in London watching you entertain on the plinth....good luck!!
