About me

I have worked as a performance artist and lecturer in performance throughout my adult life.I currently run a really exciting degree called Art, Event, performance for Leeds Metropolitan University. My work over the last decade has been dedicated to understanding issues of identity and belonging, employing performance as a tool in interactions, durational installations, videos and theatre works. This is an opportunity to celebrate the fact that our roots run across borders and to stand in the face of idiotic xenophobes. I'm going to perform a figure wearing a suit of nails, a human hedgehog, a noticeboard for the dispossessed, a body shot through, a faceless bureaucrat, a memorial to the lost ... whatever you make of it. I have performed versions of this in the past but it feels pertinent to London visually. You could check out other works on my website at www.simonpiasecki.com

  • Hey Simon. It's Marina..I have news, Can you give me a bell when you have time please. It's really important. By the way..watching the video of you on the Plinth..visually..It's looks stunning. Considering the Plinth usually occupies Monumental statues..Your piece looks like a variation of that, it fuses really well into the setting.very eye catching.

  • Hi Simon! Tried watching the video but it doesn't seem to be working. Have you got any documentation?
