About me

I am an admirer of Anthony Gormley's work and very supportive of the idea of using the four plinth as a temporary space for public art or as a community space.

I work in Walsall, a Midlands town bypassed by the M6 with a multi-cultural community and many social and econonmic problems. It also has a national reputation for community based art and the outstanding New Art Gallery. I want to use my time to celebrate the importance of art in the lives of many people and many cultures and as an essential part of all our lives. I also want to promote what areas like Walsall have to offer and their rich cultural life.

  • Hey Tim, sorry we couldn't be there to see it live but it sounds like it was a blast. Literally.......

  • Well Done Tim! You did us proud! Good Luck for the future! x

  • Hi Tim

Thanks for including representatives of Walsall's communities by sharing your hour. The comments collected (sadly missing due to a blown speaker fuse) about the meaning of art and culture and our home town Walsall will be put on the whatsonwalsall website shortly. The children especially enjoyed participating and interacting which reflects the celebration of our We are Walsall community cohesion campaign and the one&other project - the one and the others being equally important for this hour.

  • Well done Tim was great to be with you today even though it was a very early start. Same time next year?

  • Where do the comments appear now?

  • Good Luck

  • Hey ...things have changed on this website. Better that we can see what's going on whilst commenting.Things could get in a tangle with Helium Man ...but what a good idea.

  • I admit that Jill's bread flour might have blown away.

However the noise of your balloon blowing is rather unfortunate... Linda Snell

  • Well done Tim! great to see a head of culture making wind noises to the world in aid of cohesion and culture

  • Brother Tim, I have always put you on a pedestal! Sister Katie (shame about the sound...)
