  • Hey Funky Frog.....how much fun was that!! Brilliant. Uplifting. True. We love you.

  • CONGRATULATIONS MATE - YOU WON!

    say hello frogmail@ymail.com

  • Absolutely wonderful show from this much-loved clown, better known around our way as Mister Pineapple Head - groovy sounds and wicked dancing, loved every minute.

  • The poem is Charles Bukowski's The Genius Of The Crowd

  • Mr Benfrog, you are a true genius... brilliant brilliant brilliant!! What a joy to watch, now that's a man who knows how to fill a plinth. x

  • Mate I stayed up far to late last night, watching your performance. It was truly fantastic and almost dreamlike.

    performence art at its best.

  • Well done, Ben! So glad I was there ... just watched you again from above ... two hours well spent ...

  • thankyou !

  • One more request:can you tell me where the quote (read early on) comes from?

I watched your hour a second time just to see things I might not have seen on the first go round & I really love the words / what they say / what they mean.

    Thanks!

(you need to set up a site and sell a cd of the music...with the quote too of course)You could use your photo as the cover art and there is always "Etsy" to do this all with-and you could sell bubble kits and shoes and T-shirts & other Ben2frog gear...like the wheel barrow-and you could do a yoga dvd...an whole empire could be born from this really...

Or you could just post the quote ...

  • BEN2FROG You're some playboy! Real magic.......and Hank Williams in the middle of it all. This is what Yeats was talking about when he asked "How can we know the dancer from the dance?" PS Please do post your playlist.

  • Ben, it has been unadulterated fun watching your hour! You are one funky frog! I'll second Gina in the plight for a playlist.

  • Your music was so great. Could you possibly put your playlist up here? 'd be great.sal

-and the formula for those ethereal bubbles?

  • you were fantastic Ben ! and loved the soundtrack !

  • Brilliant costume, brilliant music, brilliant bubbles floating over the square.. Thanks for a wonderful hour.

  • omg that costume is actually amazing!! i frickkin love it!! great dancing you were ace! xxx

  • Just when you think there won't be another memorable plinther since the likes of Lilac Bonzai, Kath, Marc and Norton Folgate and along comes Ben2Frog to confound pessimism. Beautiful hour, every minute lovingly worked out and so tender... thankyou...thankyou...thankyou.

  • Back to silliness for one more moment:

Those of you who HAVE done Surya Namskara in any kind of costume know it is not as easy as this guy is making it look. And on a plinth no less...Hari Om

Since the fun at One & Other ends very shortly I am thinking "big picture". If I had to list my top 10 hours* -this would undoubtedly be on that list. I say this so folks who are skimming through the information on 2400 hours of art , looking for what to watch - will, perhaps give this wonderful hour a go.

    * 4 stars-thumbs up-must see.

  • The most fun I've ever had watching a man with a frog head!! You definitely made the most of YOUR hour! Absolutely loved it and would love to see more. Thanks for that great bit of fun.

  • This was one of those hours where you wish it could go on for another 60 minutes.

    (Can't we have an encore?)

And when "2400 Plinthers" the movie comes out, I think this will be the soundtrack to the opening & closing credits.

All silliness aside-watching from New York I have been limited by the camera view. This is one of those hours where I will always wish I was there to see/listen & feel what it was like to be there in person.

    Bravo-very well done.

  • Benfrog is John Peel reincarnated. A class act.

  • Watching this hour transpire I am getting the vibe that this is like a modern day fable unfolding. Or visual poetry.

The other thing that hit me is the photography going on. Whom ever is behind the camera is in no small way as much a part of the art going on as the artist is. Capturing the bubble as it floats across the architectural landscape...I would one day love to hear about the choices being made as each hour was captured visually.

It makes me think about spontaneity vs. the type of editing done in films. Here stuff is being caught in real time with no prior knowledge of what each artist is going to do -a fascinating aspect I had not thought about until this hour...

  • I hope you will post your playlist.

I also hope you catch something.

Captain John is quite the dancer...Great shot of that fancy foot action!

  • He's the winner!

  • I applaud your effort to raise awareness for the plight of frogs everywhere as they mysteriously disappear from the face of the earth. (just kidding. love the mask & your hour.)
