About me

My family are all artists of one form or another and I am definatly not and so this is my chance to be creative and part of something exciting and memorable. I love the idea of being a small part of something much bigger, making up a whole. I wanted to take part mainly because really there is nothing much exceptional about me at all, I am married with two children, work full time and have a dog, just like so many other millions of women in the world and yet just like all of them I am unique. As I can not sing, dance, act, play an instrument or perform in anyway I have thought of what I would like to do on the plinth for my allotted hour. I would like to peg up pictures of ordinary people all of whom are unique and special as they are the only one. I want to have as many as possible as we are all unique and should be celebrated. If I can get really clever I would like to attach the photos on to chicken wire and sculpt a unique person out of all of our pictures, I try to live my life always looking for the best in people even when it is not immediatly obvious which is just as well in my line of work, but I have never yet been disappointed. Seeing people reach their potential is one of the best things in life, well that as well as chocolate.

  • Oh Lucy, how can you say there is nothing much exceptional about you - I completely disagree!!!

  • Good for you Lu - and great musical accompaniment too!

  • We were very impressed with your art on the plinthe: (we were there to see the opera and when you went up with the mesh sculpture, 1st thoughts were "good for you" - you will be the 1st we've seen bringing your own art sculpture onto AG's plinth.... but and when we saw your husband and children we were more struck by your act to put a sculpture of photos (& your daughter was kept in check by your husband - she jumped onto the wall's ledge to clap you as you went up..... quite a long drop from there and we were concerned but your husband was there to cradle her and keep her safe)..... end result..... it was a lovely artistic piece of sculpture

    Thank You

(We hope this gets to you and not just the Anthoney Gormley group - who we also commend for this idea)

.... hope we get picked for last month

  • Wow! so glad to see you up there representing the norm!

There are many of us around who do not get our minute of recognition so well done from us all!
