About me

I love being part of London. London is lively, eclectic and a whole mix of cultures. This installation is all that in a nutshell and if I can be a small part of that...how fabulous!

I am training to be a Blue Badge London tour guide so I might just take my inflatable chair, a couple of guide books and tell some interesting stories/facts. Or I might just soak up the atmosphere

  • Maitland, you rock!! Well done. *

  • I missed the webcast, where can I see a replay...?

  • Maitland, you were, as ever, 'the silvery thread that runs through the heart of our city' and no-one could accuse you of fluffing your lions <boom, boom>

Great job on behalf of Blue Badge guides and students across the country, thank you for all the interesting stuff.

  • Looking forward to you joining the great fraternity / sorority of Blue Badge Guides!

  • Sorry we couldn't make it to see you in person on the 4th Plinth but we are avidly watching on the live feed. Well done.

  • Hi Maitland,

I have watched you from my computer. Well done!!! Such a brave lady!!!!.

  • Maitland I love your shoes! You're doing so well! Just watch out for pigeons.... :-)

  • Fab London facts! Wonderful publicity for London Blue Badge guides.

  • I am watching you now from my couch in Miami Florida. Thanks for the interesting facts, good to see someone actually doing something useful up there.

  • We're just waiting for the wind to get a hold of your dress!

    Have fun.

  • WOW, Keep going, the bit about the history of Trafalgar Square was really interesting. - Hmmmm Learning all the time

  • It must be chilly up there?

  • "Why is Andrew's mummy standing there, talking into that loudspeaker? We can normally hear her easily without one. Will she be up there forever? How will Andrew get to our house? I suppose he could ride his bike." Lots of love, hugs and kisses. Kolya xxxx (aged 4 1/2).

  • One of the best parts of my recent trip to London was learning about the rich history of England while touring on the Big Red Bus. So for this American in Atlanta, Ga., I'm looking forward to your historical stories.

  • You are fabulous and so are your shoes! Sooooo proud to know you.

  • Go, Maitland! Can't wait to learn something about our great city.

    Try not to fall off.

    Good luck!

PS: The sports department @ IPS is searching for its megaphone - any idea where it may be?

  • How can this event be a 'snap shot' of England...? Looks like mostly arty farty types who haven't got a clue about who they are or any semblence of a statement to make. How can people standing around like a dill reflect normal people?

This comment is not aimed at you Maitland as you seem to at least have some life about you.

  • We're watching via the web - can't wait to hear your interesting tales!

  • Go On Maitland!!!
