About me

Hi.

My preferred name is Mandy, I am 48 and a life-long transvestite.

After many years of guilt and hiding away, I am now out of the closet and proud to be a transvestite. With the help of my partner E-J, I have become confident and happy being Mandy. I haven’t always been like that though, so I am going to try to reach out and connect with people in the hope that I can raise awareness of what transvestism is, and what its been like for me to grow up as one, by reading out passages that I have written about my life.

  • You spoke up extremely well and what a great opportunity this is to broaden understanding.

Thank you for being so honest and thankyou for coming forward in educationg the public so they can learn better understang. It is only through listening there is understanding and through understanding is tolerence and acceptance.

You are very lucky with such acceptance from your family. Sadly too many families can be too judgemental and unwilling to accept sombody for how they have turned out and only want a person to be what they want that person to be. They have no right to dictate like that, no one has. You bravely took the bull by the horns and won.

Another thing to learn from you is about the issue of social fears which force us to keep secrets which become burdens, that is because we know that too many people in society are likely to be too judgemntal of such things. Normal society is sadly not a very fair society. there are many unwi#ritten social behaviour rules (normalisms) which really need to be challenged, to people can lhave the freedom they are entitled to.

Things which are not criminal, or malicious and cause no harm to anyone are things for which a person deserves no condemnation. Society are too keen to condmemn sobody for breaking the unwittien social rules (behaviour normalisms) to an existance of exlusion.

There is too much intolerance of people who are 'different' from the social normalisms, not just such as your kind of thing, but other things also. If people learn to listen and understand, they can realise that people being different are not so bad after all.

Lats keep chipping away and eventually these invisble barriers will fall. Thay have lots of cracks all over them allready and those cracks are increasing all the time.

Having people who are different around in this world make life much more interesting and meaningful and more worth living.

  • Good for you. You are brave. Hope your life is good forever.

  • Freak!

  • Fair play!!! the 10pm-11pm slot isn't great because of all the drunken people out on the town, But it must take a lot of guts to get up there, knowing peoples pre-conceptions about transvestites. • I admire your bravery, well done - closets are for clothes!

  • Good luck in your future do not let others rule your life.

live it how you want to live, and whether it being dressed as a woman or man.
