I wanted to take part because I value the experience of being able to 'have a self' and at the same time remain in deep connection with other(s). Harder than it sounds. Having life modelled and taken part in a Spencer Tunick experience at Selfridges a while back, in both these rather dramatic contexts, I have had extraordinary experiences of being in the moment, present to myself and other(s) in such a beautiful way; and of honouring the 'space between us' that both separates us and connects us. When that space feels safe, a deep connection with self and other seems to occur. And how odd it is that you can feel safe when life modelling or lying naked with 400 others in a department store, but there it is - that quality of containment of trusting one another, of being held; seeing and being seen. So I figure I can get there standing on a plinth in Trafalgar Square. And be part of something that is unpredictable, fun and possibly life changing for one and all.
