I am excited by the idea that this project will be a reflection of the whole of British society. I am also firmly of the opinion that we cannot understand our contemporary society without reference to the continuing stream of historical context in which we live. My greatest influence and defining characteristic is Christanity as expressed in scripture. What greater stream of influence throughout history and into the present is there than the Bible? The words of this holy book have a uniting and comforting effect on us all across religous divides and across history. It is this comfort and unity I would like to reflect upon during my time on the plinth by reciting some of the most beautiful and affirming poetry found in the Book of Psalms and bringing a message of hope to all who will hear.
