About me My story

Born in Sheffield South Yorkshire, only son of immigrant parents from Spain. I moved to London over 15 years ago,and still everyday I'm excited about waking up in this great city. When I heard of this incredible opportunity, i instantly applied. I wish to portray how Being British is not a state of colour, faith or region. But an attitude and state of mind. Though I am still in the process of finessing what i intend to do, I wish that everything i wear say or do to be symbolic. Like a renaissance painting every item and object is saying something. I could sit on a deck chair while listening to noel coward, reading Oscar Wilde and making the perfect cup of tea.I need to think this through a little but I'm sure I'll think of something more appropriate in the next week.

  • If you would like to be involved in another - maybe easier project why not knit a square as part of the BIGGEST CARDIGAN IN THE WORLD !!!!!??!!

    Look up details on www.thebigcardigan.com

Thank you Jean (July 29th 00.00)

  • I'm writing a comment on as many peoples profiles as i can before next Wednesday..( hopefully all of em! ) to remind everyone about the final hour party in the Square - 8am to 9am, and probably a bit before and a bit afterwards as well! :-).. I realise it'll be impossible for many, with time and distance constraints, but I thought it would be good to make sure everyone was at least aware as I don't believe anything is being done 'formally'..

Do hope As 1st Plinther you'll be there for the last one! :-)

All the best Fiona Murray (Plinther, Aug 20th, 6am)

  • " Being British is not a state of colour, faith or region. But an attitude and state of mind" How true, and I enjoyed your portrayal of it on the Plinth. Well done mate!
